I have loved deep diving into these homecooked Mexican dishes lately and so many people recommended that I make a Carne Guisada. I live in southern California and have never seen this dish on a menu nor had I even heard of it. I have since come to learn it’s a popular Tex-Mex dish and widely found in Texas and New Mexico.
While researching the dish, I learned that it actually originated in Puerto Rico, although their version is quite different. Like so many home cooked dishes, there are many variations and I can’t wait to try some of them. Mexico is such a large country and like the States has so many regional dishes that are truly unique to that part of the country. It fills me with excitement to continue learning about these wonderful dishes. Most of them use very humble and simple ingredients and are so in line with the kind of cooking that I love to do.
