I love a dish that has it all. Big on flavor. Easy to make. Doesn’t take too long. Ingredients I can find anywhere. This is one of those dishes. I would make this for a Wednesday night dinner for my family as easily as I would serve this for a dinner party. Everyone likes it. It feels a little special but it’s not really as it’s so quick and easy to make.
My deep dive into French home cooking has produced so many delectable dishes. I have said it before, but the French take their food very seriously and I relate to that.
If I am going to spend 30-60-90 minutes or however long in the kitchen, then I want whatever I make to bring me and others, joy. I can spend that same amount of time in the kitchen and produce something meh.
In my opinion, the French and Italians are the best at taking humble, normal ingredients and elevating them to pure joy.
I love to serve this along side some potatoes, either mashed or in this instance, the delectable salt potatoes. It comes with a built in sauce and then I use a baguette to mop up my plate after. Perfection!
