Ivan Day should be considered a national treasure in England. He is a food historian and I first came across him while watching one of James Martin’s cooking shows. I love how James Martin cooks. I relate to him as he is big on flavor and nothing he does is too fussy or complicated. Ivan came on for a segment of the show and not only did he give this incredible Potato Pudding recipe, but he also showed all of his antique cooking items and gadgets that all related to cooking on an open fire hearth. Literally gadgets for the definition of peasant food cooking, aka, single heat source.
