As I continued down my Thanksgiving mashed potato journey, one recipe kept popping up in the comments. People saying that I had to try Justin Chappelle’s browned butter mashed potatoes. I figured at this point, what did I have to lose?
So let me start out by saying that not all mash is right for every occasion. In my opinion, Julia Child’s mashed potatoes will still be served at our Thanksgiving table this year because to me, they will go lovely with turkey and gravy.
But this recipe does stand tall amongst all the other mash recipes. In my opinion, it should be served alongside something that doesn’t have a gravy. You don’t want to smother these in anything, they are so good on their own. I dare say you could serve these alongside just some simple greens or a salad and they would be more than enough for a dinner on a cozy night.
